LAKE NAKURU DRIVING PACKAGE

Day 1           NAIROBI – LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK ( 180 kms / 3 hrs )

0830 hrs: You will be picked up from Nairobi City Centre by an Afrinental Safaris & Holidays Driver/guide and driven to Lake Nakuru National Park.

The 188 sq kms Lake Nakuru National Park that covers the areas surrounding the shallow and alkaline Lake Nakuru in the floor of the Great Rift Valle, is famed around the world for the greatest bird spectacle in the world – a gathering of often over a million pink flamingos which covers the lake pink as they feed on the algae in Lake Nakuru’s shallow warm  waters. The flamingoes are joined by pelicans and other birds including stilt and, avocets on their day long feeding orgies as they provide visitors with a most amazing  bird viewing experience all year round.

Lake Nakuru National Park is also home to numerous other wildlife including the largest buffaloes in Africa, zebra, Rothschild’s giraffe, eland, lion, leopard and a variety of other plains and forest game. It is also a Rhino Sanctuary and the best place in the country to see both black and white rhino. Lake Nakuru is also one of the park/reserves where it is easiest to find the elusive leopard in East Africa.

You will arrive at Lake Nakuru Lodge in time for lunch.

Located in the southeastern corner of one of Kenya’s most rich and surprising national parks, Lake Nakuru Lodge enjoys a commanding view of what is widely regarded as the world’s greatest bird spectacle – more than a million lesser flamingoes painting the green waters of Lake Nakuru a fluttering pink. The lodge offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for 120 people in a combination of family rooms, cottages and suites. As well as the ubiquitous game drive, guests can enjoy horseback safaris and bird walks with expert guides among Lake Nakuru’s giant acacia and euphorbia forests.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive in this rich park and around the lake with myriad flamingos.

1300 hrs: Lunch at the camp
1530 hrs: Afternoon game viewing drive.
1900 hrs: Dinner at the camp

Early morning game viewing drive

Return back to Lodge for a late breakfast

After breakfast drive back to Nairobi City Centre
